Kite Boarding - By the Hour $99

Hourly lessons are tailored to suit your interests. While they are not really for beginners, as they won’t teach you how to kite surf, they are a good way to get some exposure to the equipment and the basics, to see if you are still keen to invest in a proper learn to kite course. Hourly lessons are also good for advanced kite surfers who might want to learn new tips and tricks, practice with some new equipment, or even just have a refresher if you’ve been out of the wind for a while.

Kite Boarding - 2 Day Course $499

The 2 Day Course is really a ‘Learn to Kite Board’ course. You’ll start as a total amateur and newbie to the sport, and end being a self-sufficient kite surfer who can safely kite at the beach on your own. The 2 Day Course operates five (5) hours each day, generally from 11am to 4pm, but time varies pending wind and weather.

WhenThe course generally starts/runs Saturday and Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday and Friday. They can be booked by appointment, to suit your itinerary, holidays or availability.

Kite Boarding - 3 Day Course $699

The 3 Day Course is an extension on the 2 Day Course, providing an additional day with the professional kite boarding instructor to further hone your skills and learn some additional tricks and tips. It’s suitable for beginners and no previous kite boarding experience is necessary. We provide the equipment, the expertise and the instruction to take you from a total newbie to a self-sufficient kite boarder, who is ready to hit the beach on their own. The 3 Day Course operates five (5) hours each day, generally from 11am to 4pm, but time varies pending wind and weather.

Our Approach

Our kite boarding lessons operate every day during Cairns’ kiting season, pending weather and conditions, which is April to October. There’s a few basic requirements and considerations, before you book a kite boarding lesson, which are as follows:

You must be able to swim to kite board.
A reasonable level of fitness and agility is required. You don’t need to be ‘strong’ to kite surf, as we teach you how to harness the power of the wind, using your equipment, rather than your physical strength.
Kite boarding is not suitable for younger children. We generally recommend kids should be at least 10 years old before starting kite boarding lessons. There’s no maximum age, we’ve taught students in their 70s and they love it!
Kite boarding can be dangerous, if it’s not done correctly. That’s why it’s essential you learnt to kite with experienced professionals, who know what they’re doing.
Lessons should be booked well in advance. We sometimes book out 2 weeks in advance.
Lessons can be booked any time during the year and redeemed when the weather is right. They are a great Christmas or birthday gift.
You will need your own transport. We don’t do pick-ups or transfers. Public transport is available.
Eat before you come. We provide snacks and light refreshments but not meals and we don’t break for lunch.
We also have radio helmets. Video analysis lessons are available for advanced kite surfers, using ubersense technology.
